Beat Hades In God Of War 3 Professional Slacker When

He’s the literal incarnation of Sleep (so technically not a "God", but he might as well be one), one of Nyx’s sons, and a professional slacker when it comes to working.Sadly, Hypnos and his brother Thanatos don’t get along, as the latter isn’t a huge fan of the former's work ethic, but over the course of the game, this relationship develops positively in some incredibly unique and interesting ways. 17Hypnos is the closest thing to a Comedic Relief character that Hades has, outside of Theseus. So, this is more than just a list talking about the best Boons from each Olympic God and so on.

As far as his personality goes, that's his biggest flaw as once the player hears one line of dialog from him, they've basically heard them all. Whereas other sources of media usually go for the "overweight alcoholic" type look when it comes to Dionysus, Supergiant Games made sure to keep this iteration of the character visually appealing, since almost every single character in the game is ungodly attractive in general. The long hair, the cheetah print mantle, his hair that flows like wine, his long eyelashes that are obviously well maintained, or the clusters of grapes sprinkled on his clothes all scream “obsessed with my looks and always ready to party”.It makes so much sense to characterize him as a down-to-earth frat-boy, given what he holds domain over. Design-wise, Dionysus looks amazing. He is another character that doesn't give Zagreus Boons, but he does give him the Chthonic Coin Purse Keepsake, which is good for the early game, but quickly falls off once players unlock more and more Keepsakes from other characters.Next up is Dionysus, God of Wine in this game, but he's also the God of Madness and Festivities in Greek Mythology. There's his cape which looks almost like a blanket, his eternally droopy eyes, his bed-head hairstyle, the face-like jewelry on his belt that also seems to be asleep, or even the sleep mask he always has ready for use on his forehead.Once again, it's the gameplay integration that explains why Hypnos is this far down on this list.

Beat Hades In God Of War 3 Series To Understand

Just look at Ares and Kratos in the God of War series to understand this design concept.RELATED: Things We Wish We Knew Before Starting DreamscaperHowever, once this version of Ares starts talking about violence, war, and blood, players can hear him start to emote more in the voice actor's delivery, and it really drives home that this Ares is likely just as bloodthirsty, he just keeps it more "under wraps". The God of War is usually depicted as someone with all the physical attributes of a stereotypical lumberjack, covered in blood and full of fury, barely holding themselves together. Because a lot of his Boons deal with this Festive Fog, it makes him great for Boss fights as well, given that Zag can just plant this fog on the boss and lay into them with tons of debuffs on the boss and buffs on Zag.In comparison to Zeus' and Aphrodite's more stereotypical looks, Ares' representation in Hades feels so much more unique. Festive Fog seems bad at first glance but is incredibly when used correctly, and Hangover is the best way to passively deal damage to enemies in the entire game.

But, every single Zeus Boon is almost unbelievably strong. His design is every bit as stereotypical as Aphrodite's, and his writing is never anything more than small-talk. Media and games tend to portray him on both sides of the moral spectrum, AKA a morally "grey" character, sort of the jolly step-dad who has a bit of a temper and a real addiction to adultery.Hades portrays him a tad nicer than say, God of War, but the amount of shade Hades himself throws at his brother Zeus when talking about him paints a clear enough picture of the side of this character Zagreus doesn't get to see.Frankly, he's only this high on the list because his Boons might be the all-around strongest in the game. In fact, Ares is sort of the best Olympian God to use in order to upgrade primary Boons to even greater heights. The most famous (or infamous) God in the whole pantheon is none other than Zeus. All of his Boons are related to:And while those are all well and good, they're not really amazing as a primary build option.

Now, as far as his impact on gameplay is concerned, Chaos is inarguably one of the stronger Boon-granting Gods in the game. But, it’s likely that no one out there expected them to give the literal concept of Chaos itself a physical form, or that it would be so immediately recognizable.Chaos is the Primordial Void (again, technically not a God, but equal or greater to them in power) that Nyx and all the other Titans (such as Chronos or Gaia) rose out of, so he’s sort of like Nyx’s father. And, as far as Duo Boons go, almost any Duo Boon Aphrodite is a part of is amazing.Supergiant Games really went all-in when it came to bringing lesser-known classic Greek Mythos icons to life, whether it’s the Fury Sisters, Hypnos, Asterius, or any of the other characters that aren't on center stage very often. She has Boons that lets Zagreus take less damage, increase his Max HP earlier, charm enemies, inflict the "Weak" status on enemies, and more. But, in comparison, this Aphrodite design is expertly made, but is conceptually very similar to a lot of other takes on the character with traits like Being naked with her hair or some small adornments covering "just enough" skin.Stereotypically beautiful, like someone that would be seen on the cover of a magazine. An overly flirtatious temperament that flips to over-dramatic anger at the drop of a hat. That isn’t to say that the art for this character isn’t incredible or that she doesn’t have memorable moments of dialog, it’s just not quite as unique or memorable as the rest. Her Boons, on the other hand, are just about as amazing as Zeus', but with more versatility and synergy overall. Ares, Artemis, and most of the other God designs in Hades feel like unique spins on these classic deities.

Whether it’s the white hair he has that both Thanatos and Hypnos have, the faces on his lower section and the red jewelry and how similar they look to the accessories that both Nyx and Hypnos wear, or even just his strong and stoic facial features that all his descendants share. His design screams “beyond mortal comprehension” like some of the other Olympic God designs, yet he sticks out like a sore thumb compared to them. The best aspect of Chaos’ design that people don't talk about enough is how you can see aspects of it in his children and grandchildren.
